Patty’s Perfect Chili Recipe

When its Chillin’ outside; It’s CHILI time inside!

Since the cool air is moving in, I wanted to share my one and only chili recipe with you. One and only because their is no need to try another-this one is a perfect crowd pleaser and easy to make. Believe me, they will want a second helping!

Ingredients:

2-14-oz cans of Bush’s red kidney beans-NOT DRAINED

2-14-oz cans of tomatoes cut up, or 3 cups of peeled & cut-up fresh tomatoes

1 15-oz can of tomato sauce

1-cup of water

1 to 1 1/2 cups of cooked ground beef (I used 85% lean grass-fed beef)

1 medium chopped onion

4 tsp of chili powder

2 tsp salt

1/8 to 1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper (based on taste)

1/8 to 1/4 tsp paprika spice

(A chopped green pepper can also be added)

Instructions:

In a large pot cook hamburger and add chopped onion 9optional chopped pepper)-cook till hamburger is no longer pink. Drain fat from cooked meat in pot

Add beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, ground cayenne pepper, paprika, and salt.

Stir until thoroughly blended; cover and coat on low heat for 30 to 40 minutes, stirring periodically.

**(Sometimes I add more water to thin the chili for more servings)**

Serves approximately 8 people

Serve hot with shredded cheddar cheese sprinkled on top and cornbread….ENJOY!
