Omaha’s Iconic Bohemian Cafe Restaurant Auction

This is me standing outside one of the most famous family restaurants in America: The Bohemian Cafe-located in South Omaha, Ne.
Sadly, i wouldn’t be enjoyed their delicious European home cooked meals anymore.

On January 28th, 2017, an auction was held to sell everything in the old restaurant-which originally opened its doors in 1924.
This definitely was the place to go for a homemade Czech meal, but they had so many other marvelous choices-not to mention….Friendly service from all the staff. The waitresses wore the cutest Bohemian ethnic outfits-which they auctioned off as well.
The bar was enclosed with exquisite mid-century designed glass panels, so you could view their vast Jim Beam Whiskey decanter upon entrance into the cafe.

The Bohemian Girl Lounge/bar held one of the world’s largest Jim Beam Whiskey bottle/decanter collections?

I didn’t stay long at the auction as final auction prices on the auction block were high.
Menus were selling for over $150 each, and 7-piece setting for over $180. WOW!
(Memories of days gone by, are so very important to garner today!)

I will definitely miss their tasty Czech Kolaches!
