JIM SHORE’S LINE OF FOLK-ART INSPIRED HOME DECOR AND GIFTS

Are all things made in China considered junk?
Definitely not!
Jim Shore, who is a folk-art artist from South Carolina, has created a line of home decor accessories that is extremely popular today to collect.
Jim was the son of artistic parents who shared their love of American folk art. His grandmother was a master quilter herself, who taught him patience and skill in order to bring American art quilt designs to life.
Jim decided to hone in on his skills as a sculptor and painter. His first company was called, Designs Americana.
The pieces are mostly made of a stone resin that can be gently cleaned with warm water or a paint brush.
In 2001, Jim Shore entered an agreement with the  world renowned Enesco Company, to create the Heartwood Creek home decor line-which was inspired by his love of folk art and quilts. This brought him world-wide fame.
He has personally designed each piece of his Heartwood Creek and Disney Tradition collections that are sought after today.
A lot of JIm’s popular (and collectible) pieces, are based on his successful partnership with Disney. Jim’s unique designed styles are applied to iconic Disney characters. These Disney characters have made Disney Traditions-one of the most successful co-branded lines in the gift and home decor industry.
The unique, high quality, wood-like painting, playful designed figurines can gain value over time. Many of the vintage Jim Shore figurines are much in demand with avid collectors as well as the Disney line.
He also has a “Wizard of Oz” “Gone With the Wind, and “Peanuts” line.
