After trying out this fabulous homemade -fried apple fritter recipe, you won’t ever want an apple fritter from the corner donut shop or grocery store again.

If you say, “I don’t have time to make these from scratch!” Think again-From peeling the apples, chopping them, making the batter, dropping them into the Fry Daddy, or deep-fryer for a couple of minutes, and finally shaking the excess oil off of them, it takes approximately 15 minutes.

When I make the fritters, I make them into smaller portions so the inside will cook thoroughly within 2 minutes.

Too much batter per dropping could cause the fritter to be gooey and uncooked on the inside.

Here is my recipe-

Delicious and Quick Homemade Apple Fritters

Four large Granny Smith or Golden Delicious Apples-peeled, cored and chopped  ( 3/4″ pieces in blender)

Set aside.

Chopped apples and dry ingredients for apple fritters

Combine the following ingredients into a large bowl

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp salt

1- 1/2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp sugar (you can add 1 more tsp of sugar if you would like a sweeter batter)

In mixing bowl, add 2 eggs (beaten), 1/2 cup milk, 1-tsp vegetable oil, and 1-tsp vanilla.

Blend in dry ingredients and mix until combined.

Add chopped apples to the mixture.

Drop by large heaping tablespoons into hot oil. (Be careful of hot oil spattering, when dropping batter into the fryer.)

Cook for 1-1/2 to 2 minutes until golden brown on each side.

Frying the apple fritter batter in deep-fat fryer.

Once cooked, with a slotted spoon remove the fritters after letting excess fat drip off of them.

Place on layers of paper towels on a plate. Cool for 5 minutes.

Sugar Glaze

1- 1/2 cups sifted powder sugar

1/8 tsp salt

3 to 3- 1/2″ Tbsp milk or cream

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 Tbsp butter or margarine, melted

Combine all ingredients, mixing well. Drizzle over cooled over fritters.

ENJOY!!
