With humorous titles, such as: Chinese Cherry, Goofy Grape, Injun Orange, Loud- Mouth Lime, and Rootin’ tootin Raspberry, these Pillsbury flavored drink packers became a hit with youngests and their parents in the early 1960s, giving Koolaid powdered drinks a bit of competition.
Well, you better believe that the Asian and Native American folks were not real pleased with a couple of the titles, so they were changed during the years 1966-1968. Chinese Cherry became- Choo Choo Cherry, and Injun Orange was changed to Jolly Olly Orange. Lefty Lemon was also added.
Unfortunately, Koolaid won out and by the end of the ’70s because they added Vitamin C to their drinks.
