Another Golden Age spooky character Lon Chaney Jr. portrayed was the “The Mummy.”

Lon Chaney’s father was also famous for his ability to transform himself into spooky characters, through the use of makeup and pantomime expressions and actions. He played the original 1925 silent horror film “Phantom of the Opera.”
That face still spooks me to this day!

Lon Chaney Sr. as the Phantom of the Opera-a deformed phantom who haunts the Paris Opera House.
