My husband totally loves it!!
He is addicted to both peanut butter and chocolate, so needless to say, its one of his favorite cakes for me to bake for his birthday.
I decided this year to pull out the recipe cards that are so faded and stained, it was hard to make out the recipe and its directions.
Here is a photo of the recipe cards and the delicious cake I made recently.
2 1/4 cups of flour
2 cups of packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or oleo
1 cup of peanut butter
2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup milk
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Oven @ 325-Grease and flour a vintage metal bundt pan.
Mix first four ingredients in mixer till mixture has crumb texture.
Remove 1 cup of the crumbs into another bowl, and with the remaining crumb mixture add the baking powder, baking soda, eggs and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
Add into the bundt pan- half of the batter mix, then spread the reserved crumbs on top of the batter. Add one cup of the chocolate chips and the rest of the batter on top of the chocolate chips.
Bake for 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean with free of batter.
Once the cake is done, remove from the oven and let set on counter for 10-15 minutes. Flip cake onto cake plate after running butter knife along inside edges (it should come out easily).
Glaze-1 cup of chocolate chips, 1-2 Tbsp milk, 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 1 Tbsp margarine or butter.
Cook all the glaze ingredients on top of the stove over low to medium heat until chocolate chips are melted and glaze is smooth. (about 3-5 minutes)
Pour the glaze over the top of the cake and let run down the cake sides.
ENJOY!
